Ive been exchanging emails with a woman who with her husband is starting a software business. Their attention today is on raising money to start the marketing process and build a business to sell a product hes developed. Ive been down this path and I envy them. Its exciting and they have a world of possibilities ahead. Its also the best time to think about the day they might want or need to do something else. We use seminars and conferences to market our services. We do that to educate business owners about the process of selling a business and tell them what they must do in preparation to successfully get a deal done. Preparation is not an event, its a process thats part of the business building effort. Preparation is doing little, seemingly insignificant things right so they dont hurt you later. So perhaps the most important benefit of our conferences is that it allows us to get acquainted with our potential clients early enough to help them do the right thing to prevent problems. No one at Corum has actually done a study, but I suspect our most successful client engagements are with people that attend our events and stay in contact.
