British Telecommunications to buy Stemmer and SND

BT announced that it agreed to acquire Stemmer GmbH and SND GmbH, both German companies constituting the enterprise IT services segment of Net AG. The acquisitions will strengthen BT’s skills and capabilities in the German market, in line with BT’s strategy to offer networked IT services to its corporate customers in Germany and globally.

HiQ acquires TSG Test Solutions 

HiQ (Sweden) is acquiring TSG Test Solutions, a specialized IT consulting firm in Espoo, Finland. Vision IT acquires Drago Solutions

Vision IT Group, the European IT engineering and infrastructure consulting group involved in software qualification and development of applications for Information Systems, is acquiring Drago Solutions (Spain), a company specialized in IT engineering. Barclays Private Capital (Germany) has launched a friendly takeover bid for German IT services company Computerlinks. Bull acquires CSB Consulting 

Bull has acquired CSB Consulting, the IT services company with a presence in Belgium and Luxembourg. Mascon Global acquires Ebusinessware

GlobalLogic acquired Dalian 3CIS

GlobalLogic Inc., provider of outsourced software product engineering services, has expanded its reach in China and acquired Dalian 3CIS, a China-based software development company. HP to buy EDS

Hewlett-Packard Co. is buying Electronic Data Systems Corp. in a deal that will create the second largest technology services provider behind IBM. It's a field dominated by IBM Corp., which generated $54 billion in revenue from technology services last year. HP's technology services revenue will more than double to more than $38 billion with the addition of EDS, which had $22 billion in revenue last year. Once the marriage is complete, HP estimates it will have about a 7 percent share of the technology service market compared with IBM's 10 percent share. The deal will enable HP to leapfrog Fujitsu and Accenture in the niche. To make sure the EDS takeover pays off, HP indicated it will make significant layoffs as it eliminates overlapping jobs and other expenses. The combined services business would have 210,000 employees and operations in more than 80 countries. It will retain the EDS brand and EDS' Plano, Texas headquarters.

Civica Group (UK) has agreed to a buy-out by management, backed by 3i. The Civica Group is one of the most experienced providers of consulting, software and managed services to the public sector and regulated services. Civica’s products and services are behind local transactions with 25 million citizens and businesses. The company blends business and technical consulting, development and integration of specialist business applications and managed services. Rumors of this had been swirling around for months - involving other 'trade' purchasers and Alchemy (Civica's original PE backers).
