Lesson Learned from CITYTECH

After closing the deal between ICF and CITYTECH, we keep getting asked what billion-dollar companies find appealing about high-growth IT services teams. 

In our experience, there are four “lenses” through which potential acquirers will view your team. 

•    Culture: Have you developed the ability to attract, retain and develop a strong team?

•    Skills: Is what you offer relevant in developing technologies?

•    Growth: Are you excited about scaling up, or worried?

•    Innovation: Do you have that special something they’re looking for?

We predicted back in January that this would be a strong year for specialized IT services companies, and this sale and the trends that cause it are certainly bearing that prediction out.
