According to a recent study of the French American analyst Markess International, SaaS is expanding at a double digit numbers in France. CAGR should rise 14% from 2008 to 2010. That means a total market next year of more than €2bn. More than 270 companies participated in the study. The good news here is that crisis is speeding up SaaS adoption (which was expected) and that 66% of the companies interviewed will spend more on SaaS this year and next year. Total SaaS revenue in France was about €1.5bn in 2008, that is to say, nearly 15% of the whole French software market.

« We are cloud »
We are cloud is the name of a small French SaaS company that just popped-up. The five-person start-up released their first beta self-service Business Intelligence full SaaS solution. My perception is that it is one of the perfect combinations of what should be SaaS and business performance reporting tools: drag and drop data, quick set-up dashboard, instant charts and collaboration between users a no-brainer solution. For some old pros of the BI world, We are cloud will probably be perceived as a toy. For those who think that BI for the masses really means something, they should take a look at it. We are cloud needs more knowledge and customer experience to get out of the blue. Help them and you should be rewarded soon.
