Yesterday I had the pleasure to moderate “A Healthy Market: M&A for Healthcare Software & Technology,” a Market Spotlight webcast from World Financial Symposiums. This was an outstanding event—so outstanding, and in such high demand, that WFS will be rebroadcasting the event next Thursday, October 3 at 11:30 AM NY time. If you missed it the first time, register here.

Speakers and panelists included:

  • Elon Gasper, Corum’s VP & Director of Research, who did a thorough report on recent M&A in the space, which has been considerable, across a wide variety of customer bases, from major care facilities to government & insurance companies to patients themselves.
  • Theresa Chase, President & CEO of American HealthTech, recently acquired by Healthland, who discussed the impact of increased pace of innovation and competition in healthcare IT on their decision to sell.
  • Spencer Kay, founder of Fastrack Medical Systems, sold to Mediware this summer, who gave his perspective on how buyer desires for product integration and seamless data transfer are driving M&A.
  • Rob Schram, Corum Group Senior VP, who closed two of Corum’s three healthcare deals this summer, outlined the specific things healthcare buyers look for when examining potential acquisitions.

The event was packed with advice and insight that was incredibly valuable to any healthcare IT executive or other interested party, so I hope you are able to join us for the rebroadcast on October 3.
