Over 2 decades ago, Corum's founder, Bruce Milne, wrote "Software Company Guerilla Marketing: How to Succeed in the Software Wars with a Carefully Targeted, Low/No Budget Marketing and Sales Campaign." Here’s another of his time-tested ideas: Card decks. Printing card decks can be much more cost effective than ads or direct mail. This is especially true if the deck goes to your specific target audience. We know of one software publisher who received very high quality leads for only $10 per response, which is excellent. Unfortunately, they didn’t have a good plan for follow up. (And today, a card deck would be a novel advertising method.)
