Financial Shocks and Market Recoveries

We are facing one of the worst financial crises in history. The U.S. equity market has suffered mayor declines with both the Dow and Nasdaq down over 30% YTD. The U.S. government has stepped in with a bailout plan of $700 billion dollars. In addition, six European countries put $2.3 trillion on the line to provide guarantees and to take other emergency measures to save the banking system from a global collapse. Will this be enough? How long until we are back on the right track?
