Autodesk acquired NavisWorks

NavisWorks, a United Kingdom-based developer of 3D digital designs in the building, plant and marine markets

NavisWorks is a customer oriented organization that develops and markets software to enable full exploitation of the benefits of 3D digital designs in the Building, Plant and Marine markets.

“The combination of NavisWorks and Autodesk technology is an excellent match,” said Peter Thompson, CEO of NavisWorks. “Our products augment the coordinated, consistent and computable information produced by the Revit platform for building information modeling and can aggregate that information with data from other sources, including AutoCAD, Inventor, Civil 3D as well as many non-AutoCAD products, to build the most complete understanding possible of the overall project.”

“This transaction was a logical evolution of the symbiotic relationship that had developed prior to the deal,” added Miro Parizek, managing director of Corum Group International. “Now Autodesk can fully integrate the additional visualization tools NavisWorks had developed mostly for Autodesk users.”
