Oracle buys ClearApp

Oracle has agreed to acquire ClearApp, a leading supplier of application management solutions for composite applications. ClearApp addresses the increasingly difficult task of managing composite applications built on SOA platforms by providing visibility of business services across all related application components. ClearApp products and Oracle Enterprise Manager are expected to provide customers with a comprehensive application management solution providing enhanced service levels, reduced system down-time and improved return on SOA investments.

IBM acquires ILOG

IBM has agreed to buy process management software group ILOG. ILOG's software allows businesses to more effectively manage and automate the decision-making process, giving companies an opportunity to react with incredible speed and accuracy. IBM has partnered with ILOG for over a decade. The deal will strengthen the merged company's position in business processes management and service-oriented architecture, helping clients to deliver critical business information in real time and to make faster and better informed decisions. SAP recently acquired its own business rules management solution, YASU Technologies. There are only a few leading rules engine providers remaining.

Taylor Corporation acquires Interprise Software

The Services and Technology Division of Taylor Corporation, provider of business and personal communications products, technologies and services, has acquired Interprise Software Systems International Inc., a developer of scalable software solutions for businesses. As part of the acquisition, Interprise Software Systems International Inc. was renamed Interprise Software Solutions, Inc. As part of Taylor Corp., Interprise Solutions now has access to significantly more resources and expertise than before, allowing it to improve its products, provide better service and expand into new markets. The company's flagship product, Interprise Suite, is a customizable SOA Smart Client-based application that provides businesses a comprehensive view of their customers through enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, accounting, e-commerce and point-of-sale tools in a single, integrated application.
