Noser Engineering acquires a segment of ipg AG
Noser Engineering AG, a provider of technical software and services, has acquired the Automation Engineering segment of the company Information Process Group AG (ipg AG). Noser Engineering has a team of around 70 engineers across several locations within Switzerland, and implements demanding software solutions and carries out software test and test-automation projects. ipg AG is a provider of solutions in Security Engineering and Automation Engineering. According to Geri Moll, CEO of Noser Engineering, this acquisition will better position Noser in control systems for the medical segment.

Construction Data acquires BidTool
Construction Data, the leading regional provider of information to the commercial construction industry, announced that it has acquired BidTool, a similar information provider based in Vero Beach, Florida. The acquisition will expand Construction Data's regional coverage to 30 states, expand the breadth of information to the construction community and add additional resources to expand its informational service to its strong subscriber base. Construction Data serves the commercial construction industry with regionally focused commercial construction projects. The acquisition of BidTool expands its coverage area, brings it new products, new people and leverages its business for other similar expansion opportunities.

Deltek acquires Planview MPM Division
Deltek, Inc., provider of enterprise applications software for project-focused organizations, has acquired the MPM solution and all related assets from Planview, Inc. MPM is an earned value management (EVM) software application used by government contractors and agencies to meet the complex compliance requirements for their programs issued by the U.S. Federal Government. Through the acquisition of MPM, Deltek extends its position in the earned value management applications market and will expand the earned value product options for Deltek customers. In addition, the MPM solution with its best-in-class, ease-of-use and ease-of-installation will offer more flexibility for contractors who choose to implement earned value processes on a program-by-program basis. For small to medium sized government contractors, this provides a low cost way of implementing an earned value practice center within their organizations.

Bentley acquires Struc-Soft
Bentley Systems has acquired Struc-Soft Inc. (Canada), a reseller and developer of 2D and 3D engineering, construction, and fabrication products for analysis, design, and drawing production. Struc-Soft has been the exclusive North American reseller of Bentley’s ProSteel 3D structural steel detailing and fabrication software since 2000, and also offers custom-developed ProSteel add-ons for specialized applications such as stairs, light-gauge walls and trusses, offshore platforms and jackets, pressure vessels, and towers. Through its team of certified engineering professionals, Struc-Soft also provides expert services for ProSteel users – from consultation and customization to implementation, training, and long-term support. It will serve as a Bentley center of excellence in North America for users of Bentley’s extensive portfolio of products for structural steel and concrete detailing, fabrication, and construction.

Autodesk to acquire 3D Geo
Autodesk, Inc. is acquiring the assets of 3D Geo GmbH, a privately-held maker of intelligent 3D urban models software, based in Potsdam, Germany. 3D Geo offers software and services for geo-visualization: solutions for effectively creating, analyzing, managing, and distributing large-scale geo information. 3D Geo is a spin-off company of the Hasso Platter Institute and a pioneer in the field of geo-visualization software. This acquisition would augment Autodesk's offerings for utilities, telecommunication firms, and state and local governments.
