Corum Leads Acquisition of Caligari by Microsoft

BELLEVUE, Wash., February 7, 2008 – Corum Group Ltd. is pleased to announce the acquisition of its client, Caligari Corp., a Calif.-based developer of 3D modeling and animation software, by Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT), the Wash.-based worldwide leader in software, services and solutions.

"I talked to many people at Virtual Earth group and I am convinced that the technical team behind Virtual Earth has a significant, long-term commitment to the 3D Web," wrote Roman Ormandy, CEO of Caligari, on his company’s online forum.

Founded in 1986, Caligari is best-known for developing the trueSpace 3D graphics and animation software. The company will become part of Microsoft's Virtual Earth division, which is building an immersive 3D Web mapping application.
