We’ve been spending a lot of time focused on the Santa Fe neighborhood of Mexico City. Think of it as the Silicon Valley of Mexico, even though it’s more than a mile above sea level. It takes a whole day to get acclimated to the altitude, but once you do, you find some very familiar names, like Microsoft and HP.

We’ve found a tremendous number of high quality companies concentrated in this area, and we just closed a deal with a company called Inffinix. We met them all the way back in 2008, when they were still building and growing. Today they serve the financial services industry in Latin and Central America, and they’re expanding into Asia.

As we’ve seen the Mexican economy recover, attention has been drawn to their hot players, and Inffinix was one of them. After they were approached by several potential buyers, they asked us for their assistance and we did what we do, help with organization, building a data room, and opening up the market to interest parties all over the world. After a bidding war with four international parties, resulting in strong offers and a transaction with Equifax in December.

We’re looking forward to several more transactions in this hotbed of recovering economic activity in Mexico City, and we’ll definitely keep you posted on them as they happen.
