Frank says that what he enjoys most about life since the sale of IQproducts is the freedom he has -"freedom to decide what you want to do, and to do what you want."
Frank recently sold IQproducts, the Munich, Germany company he founded in 1989, to Systematics AG. IQproducts has been providing data storage and security integrated solutions and services to Fortune 500 companies in a wide range of industries. As Frank considered internationalization of the company, he realized that on his own it would be tough, that he would need a lot of money to do so. At that point he had to decide: go public, or sell? Corum suggested acquisition of IQproducts by Systematics AG, also German-based, with offices throughout Europe and the United States. The acquisition seemed a good strategic fit, and Frank concluded that it was most appropriate to sell: "It was the best decision for IQproducts."
With the sale of his company came the opportunity to become involved in things he had always wanted to do but never had time to pursue. For Frank that list is long and varied. He has been "actively learning Italian", enjoying more time with his 10-year-old son, and has starting cooking, experimenting at home after studying with a professional chef. A life-long athlete (swimmer, water polo player, marathoner), Frank is pursuing those interests as well. He's still up early for his hour-long morning run, and participates in a cross-country mountain bike race that has him navigating hiking roads through the Alps for several days.
But life isn't all play for Frank. He still has professional involvements as member of a number of supervisory and consulting boards. In addition, Frank does consulting work of his own in the areas of sales organization analysis, problem solving, and advising young companies on what to do and what to avoid.
